Where every figure on Domesday comes from.

Deprivation

English Indices of Deprivation 2025, Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government, published 30 October 2025. Ranks and deciles for 33,755 neighbourhoods (lower layer super output areas), typically of 1,000 to 3,000 residents each.

Income

Income estimates for small areas, England and Wales: financial year ending 2023, Office for National Statistics, published 10 December 2025. Modelled household income for areas (middle layer super output areas), typically of 5,000 to 15,000 residents each.

Crime

Street-level crime from data.police.uk, using its monthly archive. Domesday counts the latest 12 months of recorded crime in each neighbourhood and adds up every neighbourhood whose centre lies within 2 miles of the postcode. Anti-social behaviour reports are shown separately, as they are not crimes. Where a police force has not supplied data (at present Greater Manchester Police) no count is shown, and where it supplied only some months (at present Gloucestershire) the page says so.

Postcodes and places

Looked up with postcodes.io, a free service built on Office for National Statistics and Ordnance Survey open data. It is not a government service.
